First off...Welcome.

One thing every tuber should have is a repair kit on board, it's small and has everything you need to do an emergency fix.

I didn't see that you git a pfd, if not grab one of cheap orange ones from big 5, walfart, or sport chalet.

Just make sure you rinse off the tube, waders, fins, rods, and reels after fishing, especially the salt.

Also the first rule of tubing, if this is your 1st tube, Never lean forward w/o your striping apron in place, that's not to say you can't lean forward, just don't lean to far, or you could be swimming. Re: the pfd, most of us just strap to one of the straps that attaches to the back rest, then store the pfd in back of the seat.

Also, when transporting your tube, especially on warm days, let some air out of the bladders, as heat will cause them to inflate, unless you deflate it to transport.. Very Happy

If it's your 1st time tubing, you might want to go out with someone that's experienced, to show you how to enter the water, and how to kick, so you get the most go for less work. And how to turn your tube among other things. Well, that's all I can think of at the moment, have fun!

Hey Chansen I'd like to say I might be the closest to you, I live in Tujunga wouldn't mind going out there and showing you a thing or two, Hansen dam is local but beware of the "bay watch" rejects. This is the only place I've tubed where these idiots yell at you for not wearing a PFD.
Let me know if you'd like to meet up (check with me if you do, truck is currently out of commission) and now I have to pick up another 12V pump since I was using mine to suck metal and porcelain shavings out of the engine block.

Welcome aboard sir. Hey Hammer...what should he put in the repair kit besides a jack, socket set, tube of liquid nails and some road flares?

Thanks for the nice advice.. What do most people do for shoes/bootys in the fins?.. The wading boots , Barely fit in the hotspot fins. I mean barely. I wear a size 12 shoe so the boots are 13's I think.

Most, not all usually wear waders with stocking feet in them, and then your fins usually fit much easier. Best to try fins on with either fin socks or have your waders with you when buying fins. For super long kicks I don't like the extra weight of having shoes on.. Wink
