This spottie cam out of the eel grass and slammed my swimjig/ringer worm combo and ran back into thegrass. When I finally got it out I noticed a wire leader down it's throat! With a small piece of 4lb test attached to the leader. There was no way of getting it out safley so I snapped a pic took MY jig out and released it very safley back to his eel grass home.

Spotties are tough fish. I know a guy who caught one with a metal stringer stuck through the gills...they unclipped it and he swam off like new.

Alright, that is a strong looking fish! I've never done much
saltwater but when I did, I noticed the strength right away.
I always figured it must have something to do with salties
fighting tides and currents all their lives...must make em'
strong. (Not a very scientific assumption...just sayin.) I'm
glad to see most people these days practice catch and release
also. I was showing the bass I caught the other day to a couple
of guys and one of them said, if he came out of that chunk of
brush I'll bet he's the same one my mom caught about three weeks
ago. I smiled and slowly eased that fish back into the water and
said,"tell her to come on back and catch him again cause he's still
here! They both smiled and said they were members of Bass Forever
and always C&R. That's why there are so many good sized bass in that
small gravel pit. When I was a kid the bass there were always stunted and
small...and we always ate them. C&R DOES work for the good of all in my humble opinion. Especially in small confined waters.

Yeah releasing fish helps a lot. Sometimes I wonder how slow my faviorite spots would be if I kept the fish. I hate to think about it so I just release all of them safley so they can mate and spawn and I can catch them when they get huge hahahaha
