I am looking to get a float tube. Cost is a definite factor but am looking in the $200 or cheaper range but want good quality that will last. Less expensive is better but won't sacrifice just to save money. I will fish for anything that swims but fly fishing for trout is my favorite. Ive read about the cumberlands and the fish cat 4 and several others. Any advice will help. I look forward to hearing anyones input.

As with any tackle, alot depends on your style/approach. I chose the Fishcat4 for its mobility, as I like to cover as much water as I can (lake perris). I dont think the fishcat is as "stable" of a platform as the Cumberland in the wind/chop, but you can motor in a Fishcat on calm water.

Is it not possible to motor the cumberland? What makes the fish cat capable of having a motor if the cumberland cant

"motor" as in moving at a good pace by fin power!

If you want something that will last, don't look at under $100 tubes. The only complaint I have heard about the FC is that thee is no spreader bar. As to speed, if you are in a hurry a tube is not for you.

LOL Second that motion! Got three, now one remains. Cumberland is great to have at a great price. Fish Cat 4 Deluxe is even better. Prowler, if you have the cash. Dave Scadden Escape if you have money grow on tree.

I'm partial to the ODC 420 by Creek Company because I own one. The PVC coating on the bottom makes it tough.
I keep hearing great things about the Cumberland, I might have to get me one as a backup :]

And any of the Outcast boats (FC4, FC4D) seem to be pretty popular as well.
