Well, I ordered the Outcast rod holder last week. It is suppose to be delivered today. I will post up and let you guys know what I think of it. I read some real good and some bad. I guess I will have to see for myself. If it's not good, I will throw it up for sale somewhere and contract Dano to help build me a rack. He's got a nice rack Wink The main thing about the Outcast rod holder system is I heard it can dunk your reels in the water. That is a big negative when tubing in the salt. I guess we will see how it works! For$69.99 it better be good.. LOL!

The first thing about the Outcast I noticed was the inability to adjust the ride angle of the platform. This is or appears to be one piece construction. What I have found is the ability to adjust the "vertical tilt stops" for lack of a better term is pretty vital. In salt water you would definately want this to prevent, as you said LC, reel dunkage (the official term I hear ) I learned this from Jeff's design as he had noted this in his construction. Also as I found out at SFD flotation is vital should you find yourself in a precarious float tube situation as I did that day. If I did not have the flotation on my rack I would have been on the water with one combo only. This was because my rack was set up for a big pontoon boat. I could not adjust out the slack to accommodate the "low rider" I was sporting that day. But it comes down to personnel preference and you never know until you try. This was just my experience. I look forward to hear your opinion of this one so we will keep our fingers crossed it shows up today so you can post up on it! Personally I hope you love it cuz nothing is better than when a plan works out! Thumbs Up

ROFL! HAHA! Thanks for the feedback guys. The rack has arrived. I have yet to open the box. Box arrived open on one end via UPS. Go figure. It looks HUGE. This one may be sent back to Cabela's. I want ease of use. LOL if I wanted a rod rack on my float tube the size of me, I'd just buy a second tube to carry my rods. LOL!

You can use it as a lounge chair. Is it as long as my rod rack?

Actually it was just the shipping box that was huge. However, I don't think this is a rack I can take in the salt. There are no stainless on it at all. Not even the screws. Kinda expensive lol. I guess it will do fine for fresh. Not going to mount it for a while. Tube is put away until the next trip haha.

Ya no photos. It's just like the one on the Outcast website. It looks like nothing unless it's strapped to the tube. I haven't had any time to inflate my tube to even test the fit. LOL! Maybe this weekend. Sorry guys!

I'm just getting my gear ready for our Salt Gathering and I have attached my new Outcast rod holder. So far it looks to be pretty nice. It sits way high so nothing will get wet! I still don't know if I will use it in the salt. When I tube the bays, I only need 2 rods. Not sure I want to be kicking in the tight spots with a 7' rod to my side. I guess we will see. For sure a great set up for the fresh. Here are a few pics:
