OK maybe I am just slow but I saw this today, looks like he passed on the 5th of this month from a battle with Kidney Cancer. That is just sad, sorry to hear this, Rest in Peace.

Even though I never met the guy, I did watch some of his fishing shows. RIP Mr. Kovach.

Went to a couple of his seminars at sports chalet and Huntington Beach Toyota really nice guy and took the time to talk to everyone that was there at the end and give tips. That guy had one heck of a life full of fishing! He gave me a tackle box full of crippled herring jigs and autographed the box then he said hang onto this it will be worth a lot after I go...

Wow sad to hear, met him at Irvine a few times and talked to him at several of the Fred Hall Tackle shows. Now he's teaching people in heaven how to tie knots and many fishing techniques. R.I.P Ronney Crying or Very sad

lol yes I do still have the box and everything is still sealed and unused. It was from a seminar he gave on fishing open water with a technique he called the "doink". I'll dig it out and post a pict of it here.
