Floating Ice Chest?

OK I saw an add in Big 5 for pool ice chests that float. So I went for a look and found they were inflated, one round in shape the other rectangular. The latter was to big and I didn't like the design of the round one. My purpose for one would be to put fish in, rather than have them dangle from a stringer or other such devise. Inflated would puncture from gills and fins, fish flopping around. Not good.

Has anyone attempted or experimented with this topic? I've seen attached and towing platforms of various descriptions. GT

I have used one of these with no problems at all. The lid is made out of plastic with a hollow cavity so it floats.

But if you're set and really want to use a floating cooler I have seen these at bass pro. I've never tried them though. I just like how they look.

I have also used this DIY one as a live well for both caught fish as well as bait fish. Not at the same time though LOL

Here is one I built out of PVC and a laundry basket. It was too tall so I shortened it up a bit. I also put a lid so the fish could not jump out.

Lolly, your DIY, whats it constructed of? I see PVC with foam, but what did you use for the tub? GT

I've seen people float an ice chest in the water many times but they were usually just floating down river and just threw their ice chest in the water with a rope. They had to remember to keep enough weight in the chest so it didn't accidentally roll over and dump things.

Or you can just rig some pool noodles around the lip.

Haven't been in the water for about a year and a half. After chemo/immuno therapy, op to remove bladder, prostate and lymph nodes, compression fractures in my lower vertebrae's due to who knows what, my ability to get around has been limited. Hopefully this new year will bring me some relief. Thanks Dan, Happy New Year, tight lines
