New pb pike

Met up with a fellow tube anglers and member of the pike fly fishing association today and fished my local trout water, turns out at some point that Cumberlands were available from a wholesale suppliers over here, looks a great piece of kit.

Shortly after a paddle into the wind I made a cast to the margins and this happened

My new personal best pike and first 20+ on the fly, weighed 24.4 with the sling so somewhere between 22-23lb but I'm not too fussed in the exact weight

A couple of smaller pike followed not long after

Then the rest of the day was pretty uneventful other than a few follows from pike that weren't really interested and still had spawning on their minds

The water is an old estate lake with a hotel as an island mostly shallow with 5' being about the deepest

Hopefully the next 20lb+ won't take anywhere near as long turning up

Congratulations....being a Southern boy...those pike aren't even that big in our dreams!!

20 pound anything from the tube is awesome, let alone a toothy critter like that.

Thanks guys, can't tell you how many miles I've burned off in fuel and how many miles of bank I've covered in search of my first 20 and then I go catch one from the tube 15 miles from home
