I'm considering a Penn Spinfisher 3500 and I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with this reel?

I'm always dunking my reels in the soup and I was thinking a waterproof reel would be the way to go, but I'm afraid the Spinfisher might be too big for my lightweight gear.

I don't have experience with the new 3500, but I have owned a Penn 750ss since 1992. It has caught everything from Leopard sharks from the beach to barracuda from a boat. Salt spray on the way to Catalina and dropped in the sand by my kids. It still functions and looks new. It picked up 3 bonita this Tuesday.

Penn makes some rugged reels no doubt. It may be overkill but it will take a beating.

Bob, did you make a decision on this?
I would love to hear  report on the new Spinfishers.

I've made the decision, if not the purchase, yet. It's definitely on the horizon and I will be sure to let you know how it goes.
