Hey
I dive with a scooter. Basically an underwater motorcycle. Sort of.
It helps me get to where I want to go more efficiently, as when you're underwater, TIME is the greatest, most priceless committee. And we'll do anything to get more time. With a scooter I use less gas (adding time), I get to far flung locations (in less time) and I mitigate current (also a gas burner...)
With a float tube - I've thought a lot about a trolling motor... and if I fished the big water, it would probably be a more serious consideration for me. With a tube, its not time that's the committee. Its distance and freedom. We tube because we want to go where we want to go.
So far, in SoCal and in Maryland - my tubing choices have been biased by where I can safely kick. So I've never placed myself in a position where I could use an assist from a trolling motor or booster like this.
I need to think about this a bit. In the diving world, two is one, and one is none. Its tough for me to imagine using this to get beyond where I could safely kick back if/when it should fail.
Being stranded in some cell phone-inhibited location, forced to hike out would be sub-optimal.
I need to think about this one....
Thanks for sharing. Its an interesting proposition.
