they are awsome reels, little on the heavy side. What is nice is comes with large handle paddles.

for $100 on a older modle is way better than $150 for new curado imo. These things sell for $300 and with shimanos warranty/customer service, just think of the reel they would upgrade you to if a replacement was ever needed.

It's a nice reel but I love my curado 200e7 compact and light I changed out the bearings to ceramic and Carbontex drag it's pretty sick!

I love my curados! Carbontex drag washers are sick but i miss the smoothness i had before upgrading. Ive been havin a problem with my r7 later...gonna have to take her apart again pretty soon.

What do you mean about smoothness? Mine is like butter, did you put to much drag grease?

Well i originally did the upgrade myself except the only drag eashers i could find were for the new g series curados so only 1 fit. I took both curados to Kens custom reel in oceanside and they did a great job. I askes beforehand and theh said they put 'em in wet...no clue how much grease they put in but im assuming it was the right amount.

I feel like i have a lot more drag pressure now but its just not as smooth as it was before. (The drag)

I put a very light dab of the shimano drag grease on mine and it's really smooth, Might want to open up and check it out. Might want to clean and dry drag bearings and add one drop of oil.
