Hi everyone,
I made a rack for my float tube. I started out by taking a tripod I didn't use and making it a mono pod. I glued the mono pod into the pvc. After going out on the water I found out it wasn't user friendly. It was difficult to get the rod out of the rod holder since it was to far forward. I gave it some thought and I designed a new rack that was more of what I wanted. I am very happy with the new and improved (second) rack. I used the Fishin Buddy 120 mount and attached it to the pvc.

Very nice Phil!
Do your best to stabilize the rack from rocking from side to side while you're kicking to make for a more stable video.
That's the issue that I had with my set-up when I first started using it

If you look close (new rack photo) below the rod holder you will notice the backpack straps wrapped around the veritcal post. It then goes over and around the tube bladder, comes out underneath and is interwoven through the rest of the rack. It finally connects to the rear D ring. The rack does not sway since I have already addressed that issue.
Thanks anyway for sharing.

Very clean rig there Phil. Looks very functional, durable, and light
weight. I am considering something similar. Just curious, what
diameter is the black pvc that you used for most of this rack?
It's a bit hard to tell by just eyeballing it. Looks like 1 3/4
but I want to get it right the first time.
Once again, nice job and if you get a chance in the next week or so,
please post some specifications. Thanks and happy tubing!

Where's the Mainsail, Spinnaker and Cannon ? ( Just kiddin ) ... Anyhing that fine you better be ready to repel boarders me hearty ! Like the camera mount for sure but also that you moved your fishin buddy abit farther away from the tube to get a totally interference free transducer angle. Glad my pvc add on project is in the planning stage. Must go get my eraser out and change up my drafts now. The way this is going I will be having to trailer my tube before long.

SO OK WISEGUY ,,,

I see the wheels and start to grin and then I see the DPV unit and am almost afraid to ask,,, is this a propulsion unit or an escape pod if something goes badly ???

And I thought I had too much time on my hands!! Seriously though,
that is AWESOME....I can see my second rack system has already
gone into the realm of R&D. And my first one hasn't even launched
yet!! This is just too much fun for one man to have!! If I were
a Catholic I'd probably be hitting the confession booth!! This much
fun has to be some type of sin or another!! LOL
Thanks for posting this for us all to ENVY!! Oh,
I got it, isn't there a commandment about not
covetting thy neighbors FLOAT TUBE!!??
affraid study green happy
