So sorry in advance if this topic has been covered a lot, but I am float tubing for the first time this week in both LAB and NPH this week, and just wondering what are some good launch sites?

Many thanks!

I cant speak about the lab but i can i know newport pretty darn well.

if you google earth newport harbor and soom in you will see all around lido island there are little breaks in the houses about 30 feet at most. all of those are access to the water and on the pensula and balboa island streets dead end into the water and you can launch from any of those.

the only place you cant launch from is any area that says private. (only seen a few)

like Jeff said the cost gaurd station is good. also anywhere near bay island/ sportfishing landing. I use to launch from lido alot and fish all the docks (either side) and do very well but last year wasnt as good and so i switched to launching from coast gaurd station mostly.

Balboa Island, off of park ave......at the end...they have a public dock there, i launched from there yesterday...its perfect and calm for a first timer....when u headed out again....

like others mentioned coastguard is cool...but id say park ave, water current can get crazy at the coastguard.....as for the LAB, never been myself....

good luck bro where ever you go....

Tony G...im out in newport every wednesday...hit me up...

Thanks all for the info and the invites. Went to LAB last night 5/21 from Mother's Beach and kicked to Tantalum and fished the rock jetty across from the beach & looking forward to trying to NPH another bay spots.
