Decided to hit Bass Pro's Memorial sale on the way back from our annual Eastern Sierras get togeather "post a report on that later, more about weather than fishing ".
So I pick up a sale paper at the entrance to BPS and pick out everything I can't live without and want to look at. As I start my search I find out that nothing has been placed in the isle it should be in and every sales associate that tries to help me looks at the item in the sale paper and tells me they have never heard of or seen that item try this section or that section of the store. After a bit of roaming and searching on my own I find that the flashlight I wanted wasn't in with the flashlights it's in the fishing terminal tackle section, the shoes I want are not in the shoe section they are in with the clothes and so on and so on with almost every item I want. And where some items should be there is a empty spot and they appear to be sold out till I ask a sales associate if they have any more, they go to the back then return with guess what? the last one they could find in the store! luuucky me! I got the last BPS hook remover, BPS boat bag and Size 12 neoprene wading boot in black they had!
I think this is all some kind of ploy to make us feel like we got lucky and scored at BPS by getting the "last one" along with making us wander all over the store to find more items we cannot live without. And to top it off before I could leave the store with my new found must have items they wanted me to give them $95.00 for everything I found! It's all evil pure evil!
Now the only way I can see to stop this monster we affectionatly call Bass Pro Shops or BPS from emptying out wallets is to get a CABELA'S !!!
I know I want a Cabela's in So. Cal and I know you all want one and think of the jobs it would bring with it . So who's with me in begging Cabela's to save us from Bass Pro, who has any ideas on how to get one here. I'd be willing to give up a few undesireable cities we have out here to give them the land they need to build on, they could Cabelaize that area towards a brighter future .
