I've used 55# Daiwa Samurai Braided Line for 6-years in the surf and now I've use the 20# Daiwa Samurai Braided Line w/ a 4-ft (10# to 15# Izor XXX co-polymer) leader on my float tube these days.

Samurai is one of the top 3 super braids and it has 8-carriers.

Samurai line is unlike any other braided line on the market.
Sure it's strong and sensitive, but it's also noticeably thinner, softer, smoother and more flexible than ordinary braids.
That means less friction for better casts; reduced line noise on the retrieve; and a faster sink rate due to less current resistance.

Good luck GT, I hope this helps you.

Thanks Dan, very informative article............I know you use the Samurai, but I am leaning towards the Suffix.......price will probably be the determining factor............ Merry Christmas ........GT

A very good 8-carrier braided line of choice GT! Thumbs Up
If I fished the FW; like you, where I needed a line that would punch thru ... I would have gone with the Suffix as well.

Did the artificial help you in making up your final choice ...
0r had you previously settled on Suffix?

Well to be honest, I have not settled on any brand but I went to the website you pasted and found a spectra braid that is SIXTEEN strand affraid  This is another avenue.......Hollow core braid, NO knots. It's like the fish gods just hit me with a hammer
  .http://www.charkbait.com/cs/CSHL-TT-Braid.htm

They have a store in Huntington Beach that I'm going to venture too. I have an idea of what I want to do to setup a harbor rod with NO knots. My newest rods have micro guides, even a SixGill spinning rod that I use in the harbors. So I would load the reel with 8 strand spectra solid core braid then add a 25 yard spool of Toro Tamer 16 strand hollow core spectra braid. No knot. Then add a fluorocarbon leader. NO knot

I believe I could set this up while fishing the tube.  On a boat don't think so..........read the site page, good stuff...........GT

OK ... I'm starting to check the knot-less application out on line ... interesting indeed!

GT ... would you please write-up a follow-up report on:

Your initial investment expenses, special tools needed, the ease of assembling the knot-less, adding leader line a 4th and 10th time, whether or not you can add leader line while on a FT and so on .... after you've had a chance to thoroughly field test it for a while.

I'm super interested! Thumbs Up

GT ... do you think that you will start off with the Sato Connection or the Hub knot w/ glue?
