So I bought this nevada last year on sale and have been figuring out how to mount and pack the essentials as efficiently as possible. It's about a 3 block walk through some thick weeds and across train tracks to my favorite pond[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

It looks like a nice light setup. How is it working for you?

I like your rod holder.
How do you carry your FT the three blocks to the water?
Do you carry it by hand, back pack it or do you use some sort of a dolly?
How much did you end up spending for your Nevada float tube?

I think it was $79 on sale when I bought it. As far as carrying it, I used a set of straps from my old carpenters tool belt to make back pack straps. Going to make a tray for the right side and rubber seal the end seams for added protection.

Here's a few more pics of the set up and all the gear I strapped into the center of the tube which makes walking with it nice and easy. Built the tray last night, It works out really well and is very convenient.

The the access point to the pond is very narrow and choked with cattails and red grass. Need to figure out a better lower strap system that will allow me to hinge the tray up so it's not so wide when launching into the pond

Your tube is looking good. I am sure you will make a dozen changes before you are happy.

I sure did.

Thanks for sharing.

Lol, that's so true. It seems like every single time I go fish with this thing ,I have been out a lot, there's a different strap or different karabiner in a different location. Honestly that's half the fun for me

That is half the fun for all of us. It is always worth a little tweaking of the tube between fishing trips.

Cut down a few of those cattails to make the opening wider. Won't hurt a thing.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I thought I had some pictures from actually spraying the closed cell expanding foam,  shaping it and then reinstalling the cover. Can't seem to find them on my phone unfortunately.

Dam buddy that looks great you need to give a good detailed explanation of what you got going on there.  Plus is the added seat to a sling seat type tube really working well.  I wanted to do this years ago.

It's working well as far as weight and lack of water logging for sure... with the Nevada being such a small Float Tube it does put you up much closer to the apron and crossbar which I find perfectly fine but some may not like. The only downside I see to it right now is the foam is very dense which also makes for a somewhat firm seat.   The cardboard form I made is angled towards the back to help keep me tucked closer to the rear of the float tube. When I installed the straps I screw them down in such a way that the very front portion has a fastener going into the plastic at the edge of the original seat sling, making sure it can't slide backwards. All and all I'm pretty happy with it. Next time I go out I might fish half the day with it and half the day without it just to get a true feeling for which way I liked it more. If I'm using just shorts and it's pretty warm no doubt the seed is nice to elevate me out of the water. Once in waders though I may prefer the extra drag especially on Windy days
