Hey Guys,
So my chick broke my Tenryu rod....Tenryu won’t replace it unless it’s their fault.
I’d like to get it fixed or replaced.
Anyone know a way to get it replaced or someone who is awesome at doing repairs.
It’s a Tenryu Rayz rz78lml.
It broke near the reel seat just below the first guide.
Is Kenny from Kenny’s Rod and Reel still @Turners?

It sound like you could just measure the diameter and order a ferrule kit. Like making it a two piece rod. They are metal so you lose a little flex at that spot, but near the reel seat you probably won't notice.

Do you have any pictures of the issue I am thinking Jerdon is right.

Good luck and let us know.
It is a two piece, I was hoping Kenny from Kenny’s Rod and Reel can stick a fiberglass rod insert in it and add a wrap!
He did it on one of my other rods and it works like a dream!

So I was thinking about it I agree with the Ferrule, but there is another idea. You could take and old rod and cut it down to fit inside the current rod at the break. You would then glue (Epoxy) the set of the cut rod into the broken section. The next step would be to cover over it with thread and Epoxy let it cure and you are good to go.
The issue is you will lose some of the backbone and some of the sensitivity as well but it should work and get you back on the water.

Originally that’s what I was thinking could be done!
I had that done to my lil 5ft and it works like a champ and never had an issue since

I did a few repairs like this for a few customers, but these breaks were at the top of the reel seat. So it worked out great. It will work for you I just wonder about how high up the break is let us know if you do fix it and how it went.

Did you get this sorted out yet? I am wondering the outcome.

I dropped it off with Kenny from Kenny’s Rod and Reel.
He’s done a similar repair for me in the past and the rod is still holding strong.
So I took my Tenryu rod to him.
He should be calling back for pick up by the end of the week hopefully.
I’ll keep you posted.
