As far as wind predictions I try to be off the water once the wind gets past 7MPH, it gets pretty hard to kick. I don't fish LAB so I can't comment on there.

However, I have some spots that are protected from the wind by buildings, trees, rip raps, or other things. So, I do have a few places I will hit in windy conditions if I need to get out. Also consider a path that will let the wind blow you back to your launch spot.

Another issue for me in winds over 7 mph is my ability to tie a good knot without the wind blowing my lines everywhere on me while tying and when casting around docs and boats because I get huge wind whips in my line.

I got a drill motor and a prop just in cases of wind and if I get tired. I also have an anchor so if I get tired I can anchor my self rest a little and kick some more.
At the lab there are place to get out of the wind. You can fish the channel. But that's not that fun lol.
I do suggest that you start or against the wind so when your done you will have a nice kick back to your launch area

Theres places to hide from wind in hh. Bite is hit or miss. Either extremely good or dead.

It was windy when I get there to the point where I was thinking about not getting wet but decided to anyway and it turned out to be a very very pleasant low wind morning.
