11/18 - Did a solo run down to HB friday night from 8ish till around 1am or so. very little tide movement so I already knew it was going to be slow. worked down the main channel on one side for nothing, kicked over to the other side of the main channel to a dock that has kicked out a fish befor. Made a long cast with BIG BLACK bait down along the side of the dock and HOOOK UUPP. First of the night, nice 14" sandie. Few casts for couple of more hits but nothing sticking. Starting working my way down the channel working my way back to the beach. dropped down a small bait right next to the piling/boat for hit, dropped down again and got my 2nd fish of the night, very healthy, chucky and a solid 15-1/2". dropped down on next piling another and fish on. I'm thinking cool, this is turning it to a good night now, 3 fish in less than a hour. Threw my small bait into that open dock and got another hit, threw my reaction bait and hook up. small hali, about 14". no pix of this one. few piling and docks later I picked up my final fish of the night. This has been my best trip to HB so far. Normaly i get couple of fish but to get 3 fish in less than hour and half for poor tide movement. I only took pix of couple of the fish.
11/19 - Made another run down to HB and launched from a new location for the same poor tide movement around 6pm. I only fished for maybe 2hrs this time as I wasnt liking the area. no pilings at all, docks yes but I know about any other structure. I worked one side of the bridge for 1 small spottie, about 11". (no pix) worked the docks and boats for nothing. kicked over to the other side to start working my way back to launch spot to call it for an early night for couple of small hits and that was it for the night. couple of hours of fishing checking out a new area for 1 fish.
here are some of pix from friday night.
