Ive never used but bass bro has somethin similar fer like 10 bucks.... I might invest in one fer the high dollar baits.

I've seen them and always wondered if they worked and how, I was guessing it catches on the other free hooks of the lure to pull it free but not sure now.

Hey guys,
If you fish expensive lures you absolutely must have one of these. I used to keep mine on an old Perrine automatic fly reel that was clamped to a dowel with a big tip guide on it. Never failed me.

I have used oone on a trip with a buddy and it did work u can make it outta one of those big ocean torpedo weight and some really stiff wire

I have a wire fish that I used to use for running cat 5 cables some 15 years ago and may try and make one of my own. Not sure what he had at the end, but it seems like 2 hoops or something??

we found a "lure retriver" hung on a fence in 1 of our favorite spots.
love it when the ater goes down! it is like shopping for free stuff!
we have used it a few times with great success!
takes a bit to get the hang of it tho.

So next gathering someone gets their lure stuck we are going to see about 20 home made lure retrievers get busted out. Remind me to wear a mouth guard and safety glasses next meet

I thought it was the coils wrapping around the lure and hooks to push them down, but it seems like just the weight itself is enough from the underwater view.

Ive seen some with little metal chain strands hanging of it and the hocks get caught on the chain and you just pull it back using construction leveling string on a old small rod with a old reel works great
