I've been there a couple times.. decent for a pay lake. I've seen big fish cruising around in there. Not sure who stocks the big ones there, but i've heard about some decent size trout stocked/caught out of there.

I have a friend who fishes there. He really likes it, but I think it is closed now for winter.

I don't think they're closed.. from what I understand, they're open as long as the lake isn't frozen, which i doubt given the warm winter we're having. Either way, call ahead if you plan on going out

I visit GVL about twice a year. Decent place to fish. I think fishing is allowed all-year(unless lake is frozen). It's best to go during spring thru fall because the lake is stocked with trout weekly, and stops during the winter months.

Thought you guys would get a laugh out of that vid.

it was the first lake I float tube...I'm going to guess and say it was 1990 maybe 91. Needless to say I wasn't on the water very long. I didn't

No, I don't think they ever allowed it, hence the reason I wasn't on the water very long.
