Wanted to share a rod holder I built for my Fishcat. This is a super simple and easy solution for a rod holder. With that in mind I have 3 disclaimers:

1. I only fish with 1 rod at a time, so a holder is not a big necessity for me
2. I had all the materials already laying around the garage
3. I was bored and needed to keep myself busy,,,

If you don't already have the materials, I would recommend purchasing a manufactured holder, I think there like $20 most places.

Parts:
8 inches of 11/2 inch PVC
6 inches of 11/2 inch PVC
45 degree elbow 11/2 inch
Duct tape
1/2 inch nylon strap from Walmart $3 (comes with pressure clasp)

I used standard tools mostly but I did use a dremmel tool to cut and smooth out the reel insert.

Not fancy but it gets the job done

Let me know what you think or if you have any questions

Thanks for the comments. Just an extra FYI for anyone who will be making one: dremmel has a multi purpose cutting blade that goes through PVC like butter. I used it for my second attempt at this that I built for a friend. Came out way better and cleaner. So I did what any good fishing buddy would do, and gave him the 1st one while keeping the better one for myself!

I got the dremmel tip at Walmart for under $4, just make sure it's the on that can be used n plastics

^^ lol i just built mine last week. I spray painted it black since I didn't like the white pvc pipes. I have to say, for a project under 20 bucks, its really handy. Just cast out my swim bait and troll with the rod holders. You can actually feel the bite too when its on the rod holder so definitely make one.. thats if you bring more than one rod and use a net, pliers, etc.
