Hey guys, I'm new to this forum. I have been fishing for over 30 years now and I'm just a saltwater guy. I see a few familiar users here from a few other sites. I just bought an ODC 420 tube and need to still buy all the other goodies needed to actually get out into the harbors to fish. I'm looking into Caddis breathable waders and liking what I'm seeing. Does anyone else have any recommendations as to waders? I'm a big guy 230lbs and 6'2". Also I don't want to sound amature, but after all, I am but do you need anything for your feet other than the stockings which come attached to the waiders? I know I need fins of course, but are there any sort of water shoes that you guys use or just the stockings attached to the waders?
Also, I live in the Lomita/Torrance area and when I fish, It will more than likely in Alamitos Bay or Newport Harbor

Welcome to the forum,to answer ur question about wearing shoes over the waders, yes i use neoprene wader boots.they help prevent wear & help when launching any where with rocks & stuff.

Welcome to the boards! I don't own caddis waders but I've heard some bad stuff about them. I have hodgman breathable waders and no complaints here.

Welcome to the forum and like others have said. Spend the extra money on a pair of waders. Caddis waders suck, I'm on my 5th pair of them. The only reason I have them is cuz I keep returning them.
For footing, it's a good idea to get sometype of wading shoes.

Ok, Caddis waders are out. I'm glad I posted my interest in waders before buying. Hodgeman? Any other recommended brands to consider for breathable waders?

If you have the money, Simms. Those will be your last pair of waders you'll need.

Welcome,
I have Hodgeman breathable waders. You will need to be careful not to fall in them (especially on boat ramps) because they will scratch the material and start to leak. I know this first hand since I feel on a ramp awhile ago. I ended up buying shoe goo and patching my waders on the inside and it worked great.

Damit, I just got some new Cabellas Neoprene. I like them but if I would have known there were waders with zippers, I would have looked for those instead!
