Didn't really have much plans for the Super Bowl today, and I'm not a huge fan of either team. Chomp posted up yesterday that he might be doing some ninja fishing at the LAB today, so I decided to tag along. I'm still in process of getting some of my float tube stuff out of storage, so today was a perfect day to get out on the water. It's been about 4 months since I last float tube fished, so I was happy to DVR the Super Bowl, and get out on the water today!
Got to the LAB around 5pm and met up with Chomp and Squiddy. Weather was cool, and nice. Water seemed calm as usual. Nice thing about ninja fishing the LAB.. no f*ck*ng crew boats running you over!

The bite was kind of slow, and I was taking a really long time setting up my tackle. My fingers forgot how to tie knots!
Also, I really should have gotten out on the water in the daytime to get back in the groove with my Curado baitcaster. I had no idea where I was casting, but I had plenty of birdsnests to unwind.
I had 1 rod set-up with a dropshot, but lost 3 rigs. All I had were 1/2oz bank sinkers, so I think they were just getting hung up on eel grass. What worked for me were small leadheads and swimbaits, a black with chartreuse tail, and black with red belly (Black Widow?). Tonight's flavor was HotSauce. Basically worked the docks, and bumped it really slow along the bottom. Sometimes, I just left it out there and kicked to troll it slowly along the bottom, while I checked Facebook and Super Bowl updates on my phone.
Got several short bites, lost. Managed to catch a few.. all sand bass. Mostly small ones. Chomp also got on some fish. Here's a short clip of our double hook-up release.
Cool angry fish shot, with LAB night lights.
