The price we pay for a slay!

Well i finaly had a chance to get out for my first trip on the TOON. Went to LNL for the first time on a tip from a buddy saying the Bass were pretty active. This place is EXPENSIVE! $38 for parking, fishing permit and tube launch seems a bit excessive, at least for a Bass guy releasing everything. I Get there around 11 to see my buddy alredy in the water, he has a 6lb and 2 dinks already on the DS. I finally drop in and realize verry quickly there is a lil bit of a learning curve to Kicking, turning etc...... i start throwing the Senko and am getting a lot of short / quick strikes "the im not hungry im making my bed" type strike, after a bit of that i throw a Jig and craw trailer and whammo! fish on....... a few mins later whammo! fish #2. the weather started to change verry quickly while i landed theese 2 fish. first it started drizzling, then a goood pouring rain, the massive Hail storm! It was awesome to be in the water for all of this going on. we continued to fish but the bite turned off for us during and after the storm. i was still getting the occasional quick strike but no real takers. this lake is poised to brek wide open if we get a good week of sun but the price is a bit of a deal breaker for me. the staff said that starting Sunday the price goes down $10/day.

The Toon was great! The Oars are a bit of a pain to use though, for the most part I just kicked where ever I wanted to go. It does have a bit of space on board, and that being the only benefit over a tube at this point. The Rub comes on the setup, the toon takes a bit more time to get in the water then a tube. This was my first time so I will get more efficient I think. Also I learned I need to be setup to fish when I'm on land, so when I drop in it's go time!
