October catch of the month

Son and I sunday at big bear lake troutfest, I came in 3rd place with 13.04lbs and my buddy John came in 2nd place with 13.80lbs

Heavy winds and 3-5ft waves all day saturday, engine giving me problems (new but old boat for me) we had hooked into 3 fish in one area and then decided to call it a day. One the way back I see a fish jump so I decided to go into that area, I throw a trout king tube and bam hook up, my buddy throws powerbait bam he's on, within 8 minutes we both had limited out.
Sunday morning the winds had died down the water was glass, although my pepsi bottle had turned into a slushy. We putz around a bit and around the same time we decided to hit the same spot, the action wasn't as fast but we both got 4 again, son got 2 and our other buddy got 2. We hit one more spot and my buddy landed his 5th one, after that we headed in to weigh our fish and wait for the raffle and prizes.
Yes we had a good time with exception of the winds and cold, can't wait to get the boat out here in local waters to see if it's gonna do the same thing it did up there, I hope not!
