I recently finished this one up. Lots of work on this one. Up for sale if someone is interested, thought I give FTFF first shot before it goes on BD.

Graphite and Carbon Fiber blank, 7'3", 10-20lb, 1/4 - 1oz. lures, Fast Action.

Custom spun EVA grips, custom painted/marbelized Fuji reel seat, SIC guides and acid wrapped. Tiger Wrap in the split.

$200 takes it.

You are an artist with these builds man!

Question, I've seen a couple of rods with those offset guides. What is the purpose?

By doing them offset as you say, the guides actually make a complete 180 around the rod. this means that the top half faces downward like a spinning rod. By doing this, when you're rod is under full load your line will never touch the blank. Also it gives better sensitivity and accuracy. The way the guides spin around the blank depends if you cast right handed or left handed. If you cast right handed you want the guides to spin left around the blank. That way when you cast, you normally twist your wrist to the left anyway. That means that with the twisting motion of your wrist, the line will continue to follow that motion and flow smoother off of the real and giving you a slightly longer cast.

also from what I understand it helps in making the rod lighter and possible stronger.

Basically, you get the best of both worlds, strength of a conventional rod (guides on top of the spine) and the casting distance of a spinning rod. Alfredo hit the nail on the head with the way they are spiraled around the blank. Miller, you are correct also, it eliminates the use of more guides to keep the line off the blank, since on a spinning rod you have less guides because the line is already beneath the blank.
