Recommendation for fin leashes/lanyards

Looking for some leashes/lanyard for my new Force Fins. Could you guys point me in the direction for some good ones that you use?


Also, for a connection point, would the d-ring on the heel strap suffice?




(BTW - Cabelas has them for $199. I got $5 shipping. Figured it saved me about $30 - I'll take it where I can get it.)

y do you want a leash for your fins there straped to your feet if you want it for when not in use i would just use a carabiner and hook it to your d ring

Yeah looking for them to bestrapped around ankles while in use.

Already have carabiner for them in the storage box.

I have a buddy that made some with a small nylon dog color and a small thin piece of rope. Works the same for the fraction of the price!

Fisher: that's because force fins are super expensive and they float like a rock. I also have leashes on my force fins. So far they have never slipped off but it's nice to know that they won't go anywhere if they do.

Yup, Force Fins sink! I got mine leashed up while in use. I would'nt want to lose my pair, that's for dam sure!  

I have never leashed mine, but often worry about it, a little peace of mind goes a long ways.

The leashes I use are pretty similar to those. I got mine from Bass Pro Shop for $7 bucks. Not sure what they cost now. I've been using them for about 8 years now. Just a little insurance and peace of mind.

Looks like a snowboarding leash.

If you can get the Force Fins for 200 bucks that puts them in line with the high end dive fins.

I got out of float tubing a long time ago.  The buddies I got into fly fishing really took to tubing.  So I got back into it... reluctantly.  I have bad knees from playing baseball and basketball growing up.  All of them have Force Fins and none have anything bad to say about them.  I saw them and ordered them.

I went to see a friend at his shop, a prolific fisherman that dives as well.  Just picking his brains, I asked him if he had any suggestions for fins and my pontoon.  He suggested some Cressi.  Soft, lightweight for size, fairly inexpensive ($130) and he thought easy on my knees.  "Go to Sport Chalet, they got 'em", he said.  Went online saw them.  Damn!  Those thing will put you on plane in a float tube. Hydrofoil city. You may get cited for speeding in the No Wake Zone!  But my fins came in 2 days later.

The price of $200 for the adjustables are about $20 off regular price which you won't see too often; and the $5 shipping saved me another $10.  I figure they'll last a while so I don't think it's that bad.  Lastly, I think $200 would be an average mid-range dive fins.  Omer, Cressi and C4 totl are over $500; average high end $350!  Too rich for my blood.  Makes the Force Fins look like a steal!

Went to REI and picked up stuff to make my leashes.  Got some 24" pre-made webbing straps with quick release buckles and a pair of snap hooks. The webbing straps are sewn at the ends so they don't unravel.  It just happens to have a loop stitched into the adjusting end - enough space to slide the snap hook in.
