Perris Friday

well with my car in the body shop I had Friday off. I contacted an old fishing buddy to see if he felt like driving his truck with my prowler in the back. He said lets go. we launched at 615 am and shot behind the island. we saw a 6# bass caught pretty shallow on our way around the island. we arrived and worked the area for zero. we made a move to the South East side and saw a lot of boats working the area. I got 2 and lost 1 all around 2.5# on a Carolina rigged IKA. I did see an old man catch a 9# and a 6# bass and put both on a stringer for dinner...broke my heart. we left there and worked 17' of water near the launch ramps and picked up 4 more bass to 4# on Morning Glory robo worms drop shotted. That was it . water temp was 78-81 degrees.

The water is pretty shallow on the East end of the island now.

That is a productive day for sure , Sucks when you told me about the 2 bass    .. I know it is there right to keep them if they choose , but we has anglers have to protect our fishing holes by making sure we let those bigger models go and keep reproducing .

I am truly worried about perris because after labor day they are planning another water drop , please god give us rain and let people understand that importance of water management at home also impacts our fishing lakes .

Do you know how much more of a draw down is planned? Another 8 feet and we can walk to the island.
