Ok folks, I am very confused concerning the tide chart on "tides4fishing". The chart shows that the best time to fish will be around 2 pm to 5 pm at low tide. Every time I have gone fishing using this tide chart for san diego bay at low tide, the fishing has been off. Am I reading the chart right or am I just not lucky at fishing. I have always been told to fish on the incoming tides but the chart reads to fish on the out going tide. What am I missing here? When I just go out and fish and not looking at the charts it seems I have better luck. If this keeps up I am going to contact Dupont and buy some of there sticks of dynamite and see if that works. At least that will be more fun that getting skunked. The one thing I know about dynamite, is that you have to weight it down or else it will float.

LOL hate tide charts cuz of the wrong information it gives, i usually dont check them and just go out and still catch fish...there was one time i did check it and it said it would be bad fishing for that day and i went and it was awesome night ! stupid charts!! so dont use them anymore, AT ALL!

Perhaps they are prepared by PETA so we don't catch any fish.

i allways use them. I just dont use them to decide if i am going fishing or not.

i check to see how big of a swing how long of a swing that way i can plan where i launch from that way i dont fight the tide all day.

also i have noticed the best fishing is when the water is moving not at the top of high tide or the bottom of low tide. if you only are fishing the hour or two of still water thats probably your problem.

use them to plan where you fish not if you fish.

i have gone out on days when fishing should be off the hook, no wind, good water movment and bright sunny day and had crap for luck. i have also gone out on the worst of days and had killer fish counts.

so what i am saying is just get out there and fish.

I don't count on the charts for the reliability of their fishing predictions, but for tides and weather movement.

I check the tide charts every time, I even carry the little ones you get for free at your local tackle shop. As stated already, not to determine if I'm going but I want to know what the tide is doing, and when slack tide is. I couldn't care less what the predicted "best fishing times" are. Bottom line, if you get a hankering to fish, then go fish.
