Hoping for no wind, will try and hit the water about 7 AM. Going to try launching from lot 12 area, a first........GT

let us know how it went you got the cloud cover today .. I was out Monday and Hit a Ton of Bass way off the bank again in the middle of no where , people where proubly like wtf is he doing out there just floating in nothing lol I had a nice underwater structure spot and they where stacked to the max in this area

Right of the bat, el skunko........well it was a little windy, wanted to launch at 12, but I just didn't want to carry everything down to the water. So I talked to the Lady Ranger at the booth, said sail cove was open to vehicles to the shore, but that was just a little too far too. Seems to be more shoreline than I remember, so I launched at the boat ramp. Still a climb back up to the lot, but it's paved. Anyway, fished the ramp lagoon, went east along shore to point where you can see the public beach and a fish almost jumped into the tube with me. I fished there for about an hour by the RED buoy marker, fish jumping out of the water and one or two seemed to be huge CARP! I tried rattles, cranks, surface and even drop shot some GULP scented minnows. Nada.......so back to the lagoon, around the ramps and found bait fish jumping everywhere. Threw the minnow into the frenzy, but no takers. Drop shot a plastic worm, lost the rig. Bumped into a fellow tuber, said he got three small bass on robo worms, that was it. He couldn't understand what was going on either. He also saw large pockets of bait fish. BTW the birds were having a good day!

Water clarity, about 4-6 ft.
Temp, 67 degrees
Cloudy, winds out of the west.
Lots of fisherman, boats, kayaks, tubes

Aww man sorry to hear about the skunk , but yes there is Bait EVERY where and alot of Fry from the recent spawn you really have to get off the banks @ Perris right now. the fish have pushed out and staged in post spawn locations and on huge schools of Shad . Over the last few weeks i have caught 0 fish in water under 9'

I think if you would have went to lot 12 , you may have had the same issue . I was out like i said on Monday in lot 12 and there was 2 other tubers and they stayed pounding the banks (0 fish caught) I was floating out in the middle of no where on some great structure and the bass where stacked on it was Wide open on the drop shot. (13 fish caught) got bored and started kicking around checking panfish staging areas.

I was there last Saturday and also got skunked. could they be in the deep right now?...

Thanks guys.......their was a lot of boats around the island, fishing I assume shallow too........a lot of them gave up fishing by 11:00. Good to know Wes. I wish I lived closer to Peris, so I could get more fishing in..........GT
