Heads up!

IMPORTANT NOTICE (Boating Closure) this Thursday 7-7-16 from 6 AM-Noon. The Department of Water Resources will be spreading copper sulfate by helicopter to treat the lake for algae. Boats will not be able to launch until noon. Swimming, camping, and other land based activities wll not be impacted as treatment will be in the open zone of the lake. We will open the lake to boats sooner than noon if the treatment goes smooth.

Ya yesterday was a bust, found dead fry at sail cove. The algae bloom was thick. Water smelled especially when the sun came out. And they told me it would be closed, didn't ask why. Water temp was 81 degrees after sun came out. I think that will be my last outing for the summer. I'll wait for temps to cool down. They need to aerate the water.......it's going to get nasty if we have to many hot days in the IE............GT

This put a damper on my day yesterday. I just happened to look at the perris lake website late on Wednesday night and had to change my plans. I drove to hodges and they are closed for fishing on Thursday then to poway where they don't allow float tubes and then ended up at lake murray. Needless to say I was a bit frustrated but what can you do. Unfortunately when they spray this crap it really affects the bite. They say it doesn't but every time I've seen this happen the bite completely dies for 1-2 months after. I guess we can only wait and see
