alien Hey Everyone just read on Facebook that San Vicente Reservoir will be opening on Thursday 9/22.  Tickets go on sale on ticketmaster tommorow night at 7PM.  I'm gonna try and get tickets to go tube there on 9/24 but I really don't know what to expect!  The fishing is gonna be epic for the first month or so until the fish are conditioned to catch and release.  Anyone getting tickets/planning on going in the upcoming month? I'm excited like a young child the night before Christmas.  I also am planning to try and hit Barret possibly on 9/17.   This will be right in our window for our upcoming tournament

I'm really hoping it works out bigfish! It's probably gonna be a bit of a zoo that first week but I'm sure it will be worth it.

Nothing outrageous. Same price as all other lakes in SD + ticket master charges. I wanna say when all is said and done it will be about 20-25$ which is not bad in my opinion. But I will be purchasing my ticket tommorow for sure at 7PM. I have a feeling the first week will sell out immediately

I hope you luck out and get tickets. It's so hard to get through and get a ticket. We've had 4 callers trying to get tickets for Barrett right when they go on sale, and usually the lines are busy or the tickets are all sold out. They get sold out really fast, especially in the spring and early summer. We have got through to Ticketmaster several times and succeeded in getting tickets, allowing us to fish there a dozen times in the last few years, but it is hard to get tickets. Some of the San Diego Lake Barrett "regulars" have something going on because they seem to get in almost every week. I think the old way they had of picking out a mailed in lottery card was better. Maybe getting tickets for San Vin will be easier..

Tickets go on sale tonite at 7PM. It will be over by 7:05PM. We'll see what happens. Im gonna try and hope for the best. I looked at tickets for Barret in the month of september last night and there were tickets available. I was surprised myself. We'll see what happens. Id really like to get in before the season is over.

Looks like you got a ticket. Congrats! So San Vincente doesn't have rental boats & motors any more? At Barrett, when you got a ticket, that included a boat & motor, and 4 people were included, but they still had to buy fishing permits. This may be because they do not allow private boats at Barrett.

It's undecided whether they our going to have rental boats at this time. At least for the opening week but who needs a boat??? We have float tubes!!

....and at barret you have the option of either a boat reservation or a float tube/shore permit. With the boat reservation your aloud up to 4 guest and with a tube/shore permit your allowed one.
