The first time out at the LAB, I got skunked hard. But I felt like my game wasn't as sharp as it needed to be and I've been making adjustments. For one thing, I've started using a flurocarbon leader and I think it helps. For whatever reasons, I did better today on my second attempt and besides catching a few fish and generally having fun, I learned a new launch spot.

I have to say, I'm really stoked I found this great way to fish. It's right up my alley and I hope to eventually fish every place in So Cal that I can. More time on the water means more skills and more fun.

Happy Fishing!

Very nice video I love the Prep. I always time the tides wrong. I often drag a drop shot while actively fishing something else. again great job.
I dont tube anymore but will the my yak out. I use to tube the Lab and Newport a lot.
I would throw spinnerbaits and small jig heads and a gulp shrimp in addition to my drop shot.

Hey
Me and SPDan fish LAB pretty much every weekend hit me up. We have learned a bunch of tricks for catching fish. I presonally think LAB might have some of the best fish in Socal bar bays in San Diego. But there are some pretty important tricks to learn. Glad you had a lot of fun it is a really fun bay.

I'm already dialed in for Newport this coming weekend for anyone who wants to go, (the tides are good to hit the outer jetties) but the following weekend at the LAB works for me! Love to meet up and learn from the pros!
