Can Saltwater Bass Inter Breed?

I have been fishing Alamitos Bay for about 13 years. I've caught spotties, sand bass and calico bass in there but have noticed this year that there are a lot more sand bass than before. I am also starting to notice bass that look like sand bass by the body pattern and coloration but the head looks like a spottie. Can they be spawning together? I've heard of trout cross breeding as well as freshwater bass. Next time I come across one of these I will take a picture just wondering if anybody has experienced the same.

Maybe, you should contact the Aquarium Of The Pacific and speak to a Marine Biologist there.
I contacted the AOP once and they helped me in I.D.ing my Sea Robin that I caught in the local LAH suds.
They'll know if it's at all possible for the Bass cross breeding to occur or it has already been occurring.

Up in Southern Oregon, there are three types of deer that we hunted: the Mule Deer, the Blacktail and the Benchleg.
The Benchleg had the thick upper body of the Mule Deer and the short legs of the Blacktail.
The locals swore ... that the Mule Deer and the Blacktail have cross breed and as a result; gave birth to the 3rd breed of deer,
breeding the Benchleg but that has never been proven neither.
