I would like to mount my 3 1/2 lb anchor using the Scotty Anchor lock. Has anyone done this & did you mount to the front or side of your float tube?

When I did use an anchor it was attached to the side. Specifically I used my rodrack as a lashing point. I have only needed an anchor to fight the wind and decided to head for home once the wind becomes too much to kick against.

I haven't ever used one and I don't need or intend to use one.
It's just more unnecessary weight for me to lug it around.

Personally: I would attach it to the side that my lifting arm is the strongest.

Just my 2-cents jocolor

So far, I’ve been out to a couple trout ponds. Even a moderate breeze keeps you kicking & kicking to maintain a good spot. I got the small anchor for just that reason! At 3.5 lbs, it is easy to hoist as the ponds & lakes around me are shallow 15-60 ft).

I usually check the weather report for wind that day. And in my case the tides. I will attach mine to a D ring with a clip on my right side, wind to my back. It puts my tube at a 45 degree, and I am right handed. Cast with the wind naturally. I use a 7 pound fold up anchor with 3 feet of chain for weighting down the line. If you use a fish finder look for junk before setting your anchor. Good luck they can make a bad day into a great day of fishing, tight lines ......GT
