Togiak vs Cumberland - sibling tubes....

Apparently, Cumberland is highly regarded here with forum boss JeffCPR rating it as [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Well, Cumberland is virtually impossible to find.

However, looking at the same company, they also make the Togiak. The Togiak is 3" wider, 1" wider at the seat, and 1" or so shorter. Very similar shape.

Why is the Togiak not as highly regarded? It seems to be a slightly roomier version of the Cumberland and yet is lower in the suggested retail cost.

Can someone who has compared both illuminate?

The Cumberland has solid foam seats. This causes the angler to sit high, this is a great advantage. I believe that the Togiak has a sling seat, which is why it is a much more inferior tube.

The last comment I made needs correction. The Togiak has a Stadium Seat.

Yes the Togiak does have the foam seat but the back rest has no foam. What it does have are to rods that help keep its shape. The to rods run on the outside edge of the seat back rest and eventually would really bug my back. Just an uncomfortable design overall.

The Togiak is a great tube.

If it fits you needs go for it. It seems we all continue to evolve on what we like here. Catch some fish and let us know.

I have to agree some times you just need to pull the trigger and from there you will learn better what you need and want in your next tube.

For sure. I do already have some tubes. But I keep learning.  I asked about Togiak because Cumberland is in such short supply and I wondered if Togiak is equivalent.  Reading other reviews, apparently, Cumberland sits higher than Togiak.

And overall is a better tube.

I’m also looking for a Cumberland, i do have a Togiak.
there are a few pros over the togiak.
the togiak is a lil wider in the seat. but that might be it.
*the cumberland still has a better fill valve.
*the cumberland also has a 350lb weight cap.
*and also the higher seating.
idk if the seating is better than the togiak, i do like the togiak seat. but i am looking for a cumberland.
so if you guys have one for sale let me know lol
