Lake Hemet fishing report 10/18

Sup y'all. Not a tubing report but a report nonetheless. Today as my kids stayed home in protest so i decided that it was as good a day as any to head up the mountain to fish. It was a cold ( About 40 degrees), windy, and semi wet day. Well I had placed my $100 watch on top of my vehicle so I could get a temp ( it had a thermometer built in) but ya, got to let it sit at ambient temps for a few min and my misses drove off to the store losing my watch lol. Then I went to respool my UL rod with new line but the reverse was activated so it birds nested. That's when I got frustrated and decided fishing just wasn't in the cards for me today. No problem, I could hike and the misses, and son can fish. Man what a beautiful day it was anyway! I was able to get the wife on a 2 pound cat. She's a cat fisherwoman anyhow which felt good to have her finally catch. I think we get so wrapped up in the fishing that we forget to stop and look around, take it all In sometimes which is important. It was a cold one and miserable. My kind of day and it keeps the crowds away. I wish we could tube here but it is just another no contact lake... With a water park in it... Go figure

Dont mind the beast..  That's just my best friend lol. There was water flowing in to the lake. Which Is a really good sign for trout season coming up! Also took a pic of a helo, dont see them much up there but fun fact! Airwolf was filmed up here at lake Hemet! Hawkes cabin was on this very lake. Also the Kardashians filmed here too put who cares lol
