Differences in the older Scadden Outlaw Escape and the newer Scadden Zonker Lo Pro?

I have decided I want to "up" my game in my current tubes. I have been eyeing the newer Dave Scadden Zonker Lo Pro, but have seen several of the Scadden Outlaw Escapes gently used in the market around me. Seems very similar and I think I read somewhere that the Outlaw Escape is the predecessor to the Zonker.

Have any of you used both of these and can weigh in on the differences? I have found a used Escape for as little as $350 in good shape, with several in the $400-$500 range.

Zonker on sale today is $799.

I don't have much info on these boats but I will be watching to see what others have to say. Looks like a great upgrade what ever you do.

Have had the 5' zonker lo pro since march, little brother to 9' detonator.

Main difference is rigid seat, similar to paddle board.  Able to stand, kneel if needed.  I think the main pontoons also smaller  in diameter so catches less wind., under 25#

I did not need accessories (tackle bags, motor mount, kayak seat as I had them from my other Scadden) so Dave was able to drop price to $599 with oars.

So I was able to clear some of my "net gear holdings" and sprung for a used Zonker. Picked it up for $550 and will take it out for the first time tomorrow.

Congrats on your new ride. Let us know what you think of it.

Love my new Zonker.  I am going to need to figure out a stripping apron though.  Definitely experienced too many instances of fly line in my feet/fins.  But sure did catch a bunch of fish on my first trip out with it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
