So I have been working on my bike packing setup and riding in general. It has been a blast to get back on a bike and ride again. But I cannot leave fishing behind. So I started looking into Tenkara Fishing the ancient art of Japanese fly fishing, but with out a reel.
This is so compact and light weight it seemed to work perfect for my bike packing outings. Now what I have currently is very basic and cheap (the most important part). A $20 7 foot telescoping rod, some $7 furl line and everything else (flies, leader, and scissors) all from my fishing stash. The best part is it all fights nicely on my handlebar of my bike and when I come across some fishable waters I can set up quick. I think I might be obsessed with Tenkara Fishing just one more think to add to my hobby, but hey why not.
