New to the scene and will be getting my first tube very soon. I was thinking about getting the cumberland due to it's great reviews and price or just go all out and get the prowler?
Thanks
Charles

cumberland is a great tube
prowler is just awsome. you cant get any better than this.
this all depends on how much you want to spend.
if you have a very deep pockets then buy a prowler but for the cost, I would get a fat cat or cumberland and spend the rest of the money on tackle. new rods, reels etc.

My local shop sells the super fat cat Lcs 369.99 and the prowler for 489.99 or the bucks bags roughneck? Lol can't make up my mind

they are all good tubes. I have not seen the roughneck in person but from the web site it looks like another awsome tube.
my pick is
1. prowler
2. fat cat
3. roughneck.

from the website, roughneck looks like a better tube but the outcast customer service is outstanding so thats why I picked fat cat 2nd.

it all comes down to how much do you want to spend on just the tube itself.
dont forget the other things you will need. waders, fins etc.

I have a fat cat and it is comfy. Don't think you have a bad choice based on your list.

Thanks guys your input is very valuable in helping me out. Keep it coming so far leaning towards either the prowler or roughneck.

I would get the prowler. I tried a few others before I got my prowler and although they where ok the prowler just felt more comfortable and sat a lot higher on the water. I had to sell off a bunch of junk from other hobbies which took a month or so, but I hate buying something than a year or 2 later wanting to upgrade because I didn't get the better of the 2 initially.

Did you try the Cumberland?

Yes, but I think it was the smaller "classic" that didn't have any trunk space at all.

I have ridden Ed's Cumberland. It's the bigger one. Only draw back is the seat is quite firm. Storage is incredible and weight limit is more than enough. Its even got a white water class rating but you would have to look at the site or ask Ed about that. It is the least inexpensive option of the two.

But I know when my time comes I will choose the Prowler of the two. Cuz I want to grow up to my just like Gilbert.

I would like to weigh in if I might Prowler, of course there is nothing wrong with the cumberland. I think you will do fine either way you go.
