What do you wear?

Hey guys got my floattube today and was wondering what you guys wear in them, I heard waders with I tight belt around waist and a PDF will this be fine?

Waders, belt, and pfd are good things to have but don't forget about your fins.

Congrats on your first tube! What you wear depends on where you live I suppose. Here in California, we all wear Waders. Get yourself a good pair of waders. Try if you can to stay away from the neoprene waders. They are less expensive, however, they make you sweat. If the water is super warm, just wear board shorts or swimming trunks and a shirt is all I wear. A PDF is a MUST. You do not have to wear the PDF while tubing. It does however needs to be in your tube with you with easy access. The belt around your waist is a safety precaution. Most waders will include it. If you have any other questions, please post!

those are good to have but most importantly don't forget the fins, rod and don't forget your tackle. I normally go out in board shorts only because I don't own waders just yet but soon and I wear a long sleeve shirt with a pfd with my fishing hat

Yeah I know the fins hahaha, I'm only 15 and dad wants me to be safe so I was doing some research about what is safe to wear in it.

I'm taking it out it a local lake trout fishing on the weekend, do the get affected by wind much?

safety wise, I would say the pfd, wader belt, and a whistle.

Also, be careful with the dorsal fins when landing fish. A buddy of mine got a few holes in his tube from a fish he was trying to land. The hole wasn't big enough to sink him but it was big enough to notice the loss in air.

Depends where and when. Now I'm wearing board shorts with a wide brim hat and sunscreen at Lake Perris. Breathable Waders early fall and spring and neoprene during the winter. Always have a PDF. Good luck and let us know how it went.
