1/19 Jungle Session

Made it out to the jungle on Saturday. Weather was real nice but the water level seemed lower than normal. Several dink sandy's and rock fish early and then the bite died. Might have something to do with the amount of dogs swimming around. I counted eleven hanging out near the entrance at one time. They didn't let up all day either. Real curious too. One popped up right behind me and scared me to the point I almost had to throw my waders away!!!

On the plus side I pulled up an octopus that was not even hooked, he was just hanging on to my swimbait! No pics though cuz I have never handled one before and didn't know if they have teeth, spines, toxins or anything else that can mess you up!

I also finally got the chance to do some damage with my Wiseguy M1 custom rod! Handled like a beast out there, thanks again Jimmie! I got rocked by something big at one point. I was unprepared as the fish was taking line and finally caught me up in the rocks. When I finally got unsnagged my swimbait was sliced in half with some obvious teeth marks. Gives me hope I am going to hook my first

It's still a honey hole. You understand we're only keeping the location a secret cause you can get busted and given a citation! Of course if you guys would get off the nut sack and listen to what we're warning you about then you would get it. I mean shyt, I hit the water and looked for my own spot. you guys just lurked and begged for spots like a bunch of noobs.

right on that, this place is no secret, but it is a honey hole nonetheless. just trying to protect it from other lurkers, that's all, nothing wrong with that, especially if you were one of the first ones to fish it. I'm guilty of posting pics with too much info, but I've tried really hard not to show my location when I fish, and believe me after fishing 7+ years here, getting kicked out dozens of times and being cited, I can tell you this, it gets expensive to fish here, this is NOT the only spot that is a honey hole. ...not taking anyones side on this...just pitching in my $0.02.

its fun to discover and find a place that goes hogwild, and everytime you go, your the only one there! Get on that tube and explore brothers!

I got aproach by the DFG at the concert jungle. And didn't get citation.

Ok, why is it illegal to fish there?

Home land security area. But not every where. U gotta know where is ok

Honey holes are always great. Doing the homework is part of the journey and one needs to do the work. Its all about hunting to me. Relying on a specific spot even when it produces regularly just busts the hunt for me. I love my tube, but I found being able to cover water and find the fish is most rewarding. I always believe the fish are there. I just have to find them! When I do the thrill always outways the more surer location. When its poor fishing or skunk the let down is no worse.

I have no problem finding them. I do have a prob. getting`em out of the water! damit!
