My rack is a little different from most I have see here. I prefer my spare rods to be straight up so as not to interfere with my casting motion. I have occasionally knocked my rods when I set the hook and miss. This rack only cost about $6-$8. PVC fittings are much cheaper than ABS.

I just built one based on LOLLY's design (Thanks LOLLY!). My problem is that fishing fresh water was the 45 degree was a pain in the stick ups and tules. So now I have to build another one with the ninety degree to keep me out of trouble. I wish I could afford to just order one.

That is the stock mount that comes with the Fishin' Buddy. It normally has a large C-clamp that is made to attach to a boat.

Genius! I like how you used the FB mount that you already had and incorporated it into what you already had.

Yes the rod tubes are screwed to the frame with self-tapping SS screws. The top tube of the frame is affixed to the d-rings with double-sided Velcro tape. A bungee goes under the tube to the opposite d-ring.

The transducer of the Fishin' Buddy is about 12 inches below the surface of the water.

I like this rack, but I am working one a new design for a friend. When I am done I will post up a pic.

Here is my new design. The spacing of the rod tube was to accommodate 14 1/4" between D-rings. If I make one for my Cumberland they will be a little closer, and there will likely be four. I left space enough before the first tube to cut and insert a T for a FF. The last tube out the back is for any kind of expansion, be it a camera stand or net holder or whatever. The only thing I am not happy about is that it weighs 3.88 lbs. Had I been able to find thin-wall PVC it would have been lighter.

That is really neat, great design and job done. Will maybe steal your design for a rod holder for my pontoon, but tough to find thin walled pvc stuff here in Sweden, too, though.

Where are the fixing points? Same as your previous setup?

Yes, what does not show is two eyelets that attach to the D-rings with small aluminum caribiners. On the bottom is another eyelet to which you attach a bungee that goes under the tube to the opposite D-ring. I like the rods to lean out slightly. Sweden? Wow, the reach of the internet!

You bet, your design is world famous thanks to the world wide web! :-)
Good setup with the eyelets, seems to be stable when attached. Thanks and happy days!
