help wounded soldiers

I believe we've talked about this on the forum before so here we go again. I know we're in the middle of the toy drive and our efforts will stay there for now but what is our next direction. who would be interested in helping wounded soldiers fish from float tubes. it looks like we have a contact who can help us to get this started. we could make this a gathering in which we would be taking wounded vets out for some fishing. there are a lot of details needed to be worked out. for now I'm just wondering who might be interested.
I am planning on possibly going to the website crowdfundIng to see if we can raise some money to buy new float tubes waders, fins and life jackets. as a group we can do some great things. so tell me what do you think I would like to hear your thoughts and ideas on this subject.

Id be way down for something like this....we have a person here who does work like that, his charity is "fish for life" he does it out of Dana Wharf Landing...but yes im IN!!!!

Thanks bro i think it would a good thing to do for others in need.

Efforts are underway to coordinate with the Health and Wellness Dept. Head of Naval Medical Center, San Diego to look into what community based efforts [ie this forum] can offer to assist wounded vets to access fishing. Conventional means [typical boating and piers] can hinder vets with limited mobility or those having trouble standing or walking. Float tubes may be an effective alternative.

The thinking is to start now to get something together for next year.

It will take gear [or persons willing to loan some] and persons willing to assist …

Splendid idea. Been doing it for years on my own, with those who have came home, suffering physical injuries or mental (PTSD). This is why I have multiple float tubes, similar rods, and gears. Took them shorelining, float tubing, and now, with the 2nd kayak, will be taking a few touring the inland empire lakes with them as mean of encouraging them to live life to their maximum capability.

Count me in too!
