Diamond Valley Tuesday

Went to DVL on a rental boat for a half day because of the scorching heat... worked a lot of areas used a lot of different lures but couldn't get anything going.. at about 11 am we hit a point on the north side and got two 3 pounders back to back on the drop shot..but that was it... they stocked trout while we were there it was cool to see the monster stripers chasing them around though.

No skunk is the good news!
I have never seen the stripers chasing trout, so that must have been fun.

Good news that you got a few , Man that would be a sight to see some stripers .. I need to catch me one of them and make some tacos I hear they are very good eating .

I hear tremendous stories about the monstrous Stripers boiling on trout at DVL. Makes me want to get a big swimbait set up just for that.

The trout they stock are all 3 pound plus fish . All you see is a huge wake then a huge swirl and trout is gone..... every now and then you'll see the trout go airborn trying to get away.. pretty awesome.. but about 5 years ago in the fall the stripers were boiling on shad accross the lake and it looked just like tuna foaming offshore. But the stripers wouldn't hit anything but live shad.. got frustrating

Nope. DVL is a no body contact lake. Dude, imagine if we could? Whooo... man... it'll be insane!

The only time I went striper fishing was when I was a kid with my dad. He used to take us out by the PG&E plant in San Francisco. He used to catch monster stripers. The biggest fish Ive ever caught on my toon was probably a 5lb rainbow, and anything with any fight would drag me around.

Yeah, I can imagine a nice striper pulling me along like Santa on christmas eve! lol
