First fish ever from my float tube on Fools Bait...

So, I'm sure a lot of you are thinking, this jmericle guy has only been fishing from the shore and this is a tubing site.  Well the reason is my lack of time to put the tube into the water.  This morning was different.  I MADE time.  I got up at 5:00am and left my house to fish the LAB in the back bay.  I went solo on a very high tide.  I had to use my body boarding fins as I still have not replaced my last pair of tubing fins.  Damn they are tight, but I was not going to let that stop me.

I arrived at the spot at 5:50am and set up and the tube was in the water by 6:05 or so.  I kicked down the channel with docks on my right and docks on my left (this is a good spottie spot as I caught a few legals here from the rocks).  I kicked all the way down to the end.  I missed a good bite as my chronarch was not in gear..damn it.  I went all the way to the end and starting throwing in the open portion of the water.  Nothing.  I started back in and wham had another bite which was hooked and the hook slipped out of the fish mouth.  I was almost ready to accept a skunk and just before I arrived at my launching spot, this shorty calico had my ghost shrimp Hawg Seeker.   I took a quick picture and back in the water it went.

Thank you very much. I appriciate it. I love to fish period. Boat, tube, rocks,beach, anywhere any time. Catching fish is a plus. I really have to give it up to Travis who makes the Fools Baits! Thanks to him and his bait, I eat, breath, and sleep fishing any chance I get, even if for 30 minutes. I was 45 minutes late for work today, but I was not leaving today without a fish. Ha ha ha. I guess I got lucky.

Thanks brother!  The water was nice and clean as we are having a huge tidal swing this week.  Out with the dirty water on the low and in with the clean water on the high.  This morning was a good tide at 3.96'

I just wish I hooked a few other fish as well.

Still have my mach 77 in my shed:) Being I'm almost 40 years old, not like I used to in the good old days. It is good excersise. I should this summer. The only problem is when I'm at the beach, I want to fish vs. body board. ha ha ha

Hmmm you should really get on that magical wip and ride. Boogie board is so good. Boogied the jetties a month ago. Perfect chest high frames everywhere. Got out fished perch. Limit of tiny perch. Seagulls ate well.

Even Calicos of that size fight dude. You should try downsizing your gear so you can get more fun out of your fights.
