Went down there from LA for my sons graduation on Sunday.
Had Saturday free so we went to O'cide harbor and through some lines off the small fishing pier there. Brilliant planning, go to there on a holliday. Oh lord!
But it was cool, they caught this little guy after about an hour on a mini lead head, squid looking thing I found in the tackle box.

Yes, the kids are old enough and have fished enough to be very grateful that they avoided the skunk. Especially in that environment, the fact that something bit is a miracle. Oh and yes, they threw it back. They are not real fond of that part but they are getting used to it.

Show them a video of whacking a fish and they'll really come to appreciate catch and release.

Way cool on taking the kids out for some fishing.  Thumbs Up  I still remember when my dad would take me out on the pier.
