Does the frame add any weight to your apron?

I've seen guys use tub lids for this fix.

Nice job on the frame but check this one out. I recently converted over to this method and it works great. It also helps that the crossbar got beefed up to a solid 1 1/2" diameter pipe instead of the two piece 1 1/4" pipe.

dosomedirt,
Can you give a report with a comparison as to what you like with the frame vs without?

Haven't got it out on the water yet but I might get it out tonight then I'll give a review. I've seen the tub lid upgrades but I like to see my feet just in case a doggie sneeks up on me I have some reaction time

So I made it out last night and I didn't notice any significant weight difference but the apron was sturdy and fit like a glove. The zip ties really helped out with any sagging of the apron between the pvc open areas and it floats. All in all I'm happy with the upgrade and I can see my feet lol!

Looks like a fairly easy upgrade.
