I would normally never buy a combo set up. This rod is a different story. Fished it in Florida last month and pulled on some heavy fish with it. 8lb to 30lb fish. Sensitive, casts a mile, big backbone, excellent drag, light weight, fast taper, works great with 15lb braid. Very, very impressed. at $59.00 you got to get one. they are made by quantum. if you snap it in 5 years they replace it. just make sure to save receipt and snap it in a couple years to get the latest and greatest gsx rod.
