That sounds like great conditions for a fun day on the water, fingers crossed no rain will come our way. Question Wes, what is the cost to get in, also remember guys there is a Quagga Mussel inspection before you are allowed in so just plan for this.

$10 entry  ,  there will be no one at the main entrance gates , you will pay when you head towards the off season stand they set up going towards the launch ramp / marina .  It is very rare if you do get inspected , but not saying they wont , as I know a few people have been there.

Jeff I know they where talking about rain during the week like Wednesday , Thursday .. some places upwards of 3" of rain expected .

Will the lake and park be open if it rains at all, just wondering.

I've never seen the lake closed due to rain.

FYI - the lake ranger yesterday said now they inspect all float tubes if they see them in your truck. It's not a big deal. It only takes about 2 mins to fill out paper work. To make things faster and easlier just tell them LP is the only lake you tube and or the ocean.

I'll be there Saturday to donate some toys and fish LP

I have never fished LP, not to sound like a total rookie but can I get some advice on what type of tackle to bring for bass fishing this late in the season...I usually trout fish right about now.

I'm thinking to just bring gear as if I was heading out to NPH confused

Thanks

I dont know what rod & reels you use in the bays but they should be fine for fishing the fresh. 6-20lbs test, M-Heavy rods. It all depends on what you have and wanna fish.
For baits, pretty much everything you use in the bays will work in fresh. The only thing I dont fish in fresh are the 3"-4" swimbaits.

Interesting a chatter bait head with a ring body paddle tail grub... de Frankenstein! I like paddle tail grubs, never used them for Bass but the 2" work good on Trout.

Ya just thinking oitside the tackle box. I could use a fluke style bait or a creature bait. I am really going to try to make these lures a part of skills

I think I can make the lake perris event. I have to find the leak in my float tube, it's a slow leak and hasn't been a huge issue yet lol.

If the state stocks, it will be average size trout. So my intent is to fish for LMB and Strippers. The LMB maybe still chasing baits on top, but with the cooler weather and fresh rain, it may move them into deeper water. For the strippers, soft Trout baits, chad pattern lures, BIG sizes, 6-10 inches............That's what I'm counting on...........GT
